Introduction
The Oasis Trust has been formed by a group of likeminded people of Goalpara District committed to work on upliftment of education, health, sports, socio-economic status of the people of Assam in general & Goalpara District in particular.
The Oasis Trust was established as a trust under the provision of the Trust Act 1882 and is registered as per the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 vide No. RS/GOAL/251/B/25 of 2002-03. The member of the Society largely consists of volunteers who are professionals, teachers, social, activists etc..
The Organization has been active in Goalpara. The following are the main approaches based on which the strategies and programme of the organization are designed.
Background
Oasis Trust is a voluntary organization which is registered under Societies Registration Act of Assam. Organization was established on 28th June 2002, by a group of likeminded social workers who were working in the fields of Education, health, environmental protection, rural development, women empowerment and human rights.
Organization began with very limited resources as well as manpower. The organization aims to educate & empowerment of the economically weaker & socially marginalized section of people through capacity building of the people.
Oasis Trust works among rural women, boys &s; girls’ students, children, handicapped people and poor villagers and deprived population. Major areas of interest of the organization are Education, health, Vocational Education, Sports etc.
Aims and Objectives
The major aims and objectives of the organization are follows.
- Advancement of Education and Training.
- Health and Medical Service.
- Social Welfare Service.
To disseminate knowledge and impart training through educational institutions-general technical and medical for the benefit of all sections of people.
To render health &s; Medical Services through modern clinics and hospitals to all sections of people.
To render extramural instruction, training and guidance in various disciplines including citizenship, morality, rationalism, ecology, farming, self-employment, career building, female education, health care and population control as well as to extend humanitarian assistance to the deserving section of people regardless of their caste, creed or religion.
